Live stock, household items perish as fire engulfs house

REASI, Apr 5:  In a devastating fire that broke out in a  house at village Kote in Malikote under the jurisdiction of  Chasana Police Station, 18 domestic animals and some poultry birds were charred to death even as there was no loss of human life in the mishap.
The devastating fire engulfed the entire house of Anant Ram, son of Surjan Singh with the result that all the household belongings, including a 303 rifle, 85 rounds, 30 gm gold ornaments, 300 gm silver ornaments, Rs 27000 cash, two solar lights, 2 mobile phone sets, 2 boxes, 2 watches, utensils, clothes, beds etc, were gutted.
The livestock that perished in the fire, included one mule, one mare, four cows, two bulls, four calves, six goats and five poultry birds.
The cause of fire, which broke out on the intervening night of April 4-5, could not be ascertained.
