A young lady died allegedly due to negligence by attending medical staff at two hospitals is really disturbing. Sub Divisional Hospital Seer Anantnag, Kashmir where she was admitted after she complained of labour pain, perhaps was not fully equipped to manage the emergency. It is believed that they initially delayed referring her to Mother and Childcare Hospital (MCH) Anantnag where she unfortunately breathed her last.
The painful story does not end here, the relatives took the dead body from the hospital without letting the hospital know and without completing due formalities. The dead body was carried on the hospital stretcher as the ambulance which the relatives allege was denied to them. Hastening the removal of the body is said to be for fear of undergoing long formalities and even Covid-19 test which could delay her burial. However, preliminary inquiries have been conducted and a Doctor and a Nurse placed under suspension. Such incidents should never take place and any delay in treating patients especially when in critical and sensitive stage should never happen.
