REASI, May 8: A team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi Kuldeep Raj conducted surprise checking of various business establishments on Katra-Reasi road and recovered a fine of Rs 16000 from 17 erring traders for violation of J&K Weights and Measures(Enforcement) Act and Rules.
The team also booked two auto rickshaw drivers and its owners for overcharging the pilgrims.
Further, the traders were directed to use verified weights and measures besides displaying MRP, PKD, Net Contents and complete address and Consumer Care Number on the commodities to be sold in packaged form.
