KISHTWAR, Oct 8: In order to protect the rights of consumers, Legal Metrology department (LMD) booked a flour Mill for supplying less Atta in 10 kilograms bags and a Haryana based oil mill for violating declaration norms in violation of various provisions of Legal Metrology Act.
Both the units were issued show cause notices to explain their positions who pleaded for composition of cases departmentally rather than sending them to court of law.
Assistant Controller LMD Kishtwar compounded the cases for Rs 18000 after taking an undertaking that they will not repeat the offence in future.
