JAMMU, June 17: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) officials under the supervision of Deputy Controller (Enforcement) has conducted surprise inspections of the shopkeepers dealing with fruits, vegetables, milk, jewellery and general use items in Sidhra, Parade, Reshamgarh, Jain Bazaar and Bakshi Nagar.
During the inspection, officials detected eleven shopkeepers violating the various provisions of J&K Weight and Measures (Enf) Act, 1997.
The shopkeepers were booked under relevant provision of J&K Weight and Measures (Enf) Act, 1997 and a fine of Rs 18,900 was imposed on them.
