SRINAGAR, Oct 19: Legal Metrology Department today slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on a gas dealer after it was found that he was supplying underweight gas cylinders to the consumers.
A spokesman of the department said that Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Pulwama slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on a gas dealer for supplying underweight LPG cylinders. The spokesman said that a team of officials from the department under the instructions of Secretary, CAPD conducted surprise inspection of different markets of city Srinagar and Pulwama.
The spokesman said that a LPG dealer was found over-charging on refill cylinders. He said a case under Section 33 of Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1997 was registered against the LPG dealer.
