RAJOURI, May 6: A team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Rajouri during surprise market checking at Sunderbani and Siot today recovered a fine of Rs 25,000 from the defaulters.
Official sources said that the team led by Assistant Controller, LMD Rajouri booked the erring traders for the violation of various provisions of J&K Standards of Weights and Measures Enforcement ( Amendment) Act 2011 and realized a fine of Rs 25,000 from them on the spot. The Department directed the trading community to use verified weighing and measuring instruments and display MRP, packaging date and complete address of the manufacturer.
