MENDHAR, Dec 25: Load carrier drivers in Mendhar, Poonch district, today staged a protest against the Police and local administration.
The demonstration took place in front of the residence of Javed Ahmad Rana, the MLA from Mendhar and a Cabinet Minister in Jammu and Kashmir Government.

The protestors alleged that Police halt their vehicles from 8 am to 4 pm, causing significant financial losses. They claimed that such actions have brought their work to a standstill, making it difficult for them to sustain their livelihoods.
Drivers demanded that the administration should take their issues seriously and allow them to operate their vehicles without unnecessary restrictions.
During the protest, they blocked the Mendhar-Poonch road. A police officer arrived at the scene to negotiate with the drivers, after which the road was reopened.
