KISHTWAR, Mar 9: An elderly person was killed while another was injured when a load carrier vehicle hit them from behind and fled away from spot in Wasser area here today.
Police sources informed that an unknown load carrier vehicle hit Munshi Ram, 70, son of Thaker Lal, resident of Tagood and Jaffer Hussain, 29, son of Abdul Rasheed, resident of Dadpeth, at Wasser.
Locals shifted the injured to District Hospital Kishtwar for treatment but Munshi Ram was declared dead by the doctor after which relatives of the deceased staged a protest demonstration at the DH.
They even refused to take the dead body until the accused is not arrested.
After the assurance from ASP Kishtwar they took the body late in the evening.
