BHADERWAH, Apr 13: Sleuths of Forest Department here today seized a load carrier vehicle loaded with illegal timber.
Sources informed that on specific inputs, a joint team of Forest officials from Bhaderwah Forest Division and Forest Protection Force, J-8 Gamma Unit, led by Range Officer Neeru, Ayush Gupta laid a Naka at Nalthi, Bhaderwah.
The Forest Guards at Naka intercepted a load carrier vehicle transporting deodar scants towards Bhaderwah. On spotting the Naka, persons onboard the load carrier fled under the cover of darkness leaving the vehicle loaded with six deodar scants. The Forest Department sleuths immediately seized the load carrier bearing registration number JK06A3745, along with the timber and brought the same to Division Office, Bhaderwah.
A case with no. 03/2025-26/RON was registered in this regard under relevant sections of Indian Forest Act, 1927 at Neeru Range.
The entire operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Devender Kumar, DFO Bhaderwah and Mohinder Singh Jamwal, Deputy Director FPF Doda, under the overall supervision of Sandeep Kumar, Conservator of Forests, Doda.
