POONCH, Mar 14: A truck carrying fodder (Dry grass) caught fire after getting in contact with HT Line in Kamsar area of Poonch today.
Official sources said that at about 7:15 am the truck bearing registration number JK02DB- 8137 was coming from Jammu. When it reached near Kamsar Chowk, it caught fire as it came in contact with live electricity cables.
The locals and police started extinguishing fire. The fire tender also arrived there and joined operation. It was partially unloaded and the fire was brought under control. But till then about 50% of the dry grass had burnt. The truck also receives some damage.
Locals of the area said that many such incidents were happened before this here as the wires are hanging down loose which invite more such incidents. They demanded that cables be fixed at some height to avoid such happenings.
