LoC trade not stopped: DC

Excelsior Correspondent
POONCH, Jan 11: The District Administration Poonch has claimed that cross LoC trade has not been stopped and all the duly approved and bonafide traders are allowed to do trade through Chakkan-da-Bagh LoC point in Poonch district.
Talking to the Excelsior, Deputy Commissioner M H Malik said that some traders had been inducted by a junior officer without his approval and knowledge in the recent past and they were restricted from doing business. All the other genuine and approved traders are doing their routine business through Chakkan-da-Bagh cross LoC point smoothly. There is no problem  at all. There is no reason to stop the trade  through LoC as is the impression given by some traders.
” I am reaching Poonch tonight after availing leave and will resolve the matter pertaining to restrictions  imposed for a few parties. This is a minor issue and would be resolved. Moreover, trade will not be allowed to be affected,” Mr Malik maintained.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mumtaz Choudhary said as per his knowledge cross LoC trade was going on smoothly. He said DC is the custodian of cross LoC trade here.   He was on leave for some time and TFO Bashir Lone was looking after the trade.  He said as per his knowledge, no separate order for imposing restrictions on trade have been issued as such and on Monday there will be travel exchange of passengers  and on Tuesday on wards for four days, there will be smooth trade.
