Local killed, 2 Amaranth pilgrims among 3 injured in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A local woman was killed and a girl injured after a bus carrying pilgrims overturned, wounding two pilgrims in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal today.

Official sources said a bus carrying pilgrims from Baltal Base camp to Srinagar overturned at Rizen in  Ganderbal.

The woman identified as Zytuna Begum and a girl were injured. Two pilgrims identified as Mahesh and Sanjay, residents of Maharashtra, were also injured.

The injured were rushed to local hospital where Zytuna was declared brought  dead while the two pilgrims were referred to SK Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura.

Yesterday, a pilgrim died and 15 others were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in their bus at Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. (AGENCIES)
