JAMMU, Dec 1: Dancing to the choicest Bollywood and Hollywood numbers full of beat and rhythm, children and teenagers with natural flair for dance, gave an impressive show of their talent, at the auditorium of Government Polytechnic, here today.
Organized by Nirvana Academy, and Jaz’ n Caz Dance Institute, the talent hunt titled ‘Dance Jammu Dance’, was participated by more than 50 young gifted dance students of various private dance academies of Jammu city, Kathua and R S Pura.
M P Gupta (Pawan), State general secretary BSP was the chief guest of the show which was conceived, directed and choreographed by Tarun and Sonam Dolma. Subash Jamwal, noted actor and choreographer Umesh Singh, national acclaimed director, actor acted as judges of the show.
40 finalists from different part of Jammu region took part in the programme and showed their skills in different dance art forms. The show started with a Dogri folk group dance performed by the participants of youngsters from dancing group that also included children of all ages.
The main motive to organize ‘Dance Jammu Dance’ was to explore hidden talent in the youth of the State so that they can be able to compete with the other talented youth of the country, said Hitesh Badyal President Nirvana Academy.
Other than enthusiastic parents of the participants, the office bearers of Nirvana Academy and dance instructors such as Meenakshi Sharma, Neeraj Sharma, Nishant Vaid, Sunil Sharma, Shaku, Sonu Taneja, Rumeet and Rishab, were also present.
Finalist in the competition were Sub Junior solo group First Prize – Aakash (Rythm Dance Academy, R.S Pura), 2nd Prize – Manya (Unique Dance Institute), 2nd Prize – Vibhuti, 3rd Prize – Vanshika (Unique Dancing Institute), 3rd prize – Sara. Solo Junior – First Prize – Priya (Sarvodya Institute of Music and Dance), 2nd Prize – Sherloka (Unique Dancing Institute), 2nd Prize – Govinda (Sarvodya Institute of Music and Dance), 3rd prize – Manvi, 3rd Prize – Vikas.
Solo Senior First Prize – Parul (Unique Dancing Institute), 2nd – Rajveer, 2nd Prize – Sandeep, 3rd prize – Shivani, 3rd Prize – Pinki (Sarvodya Institute of Music and Dance).
Duet Dance Junior First Prize – Aryan and Aryan Kotwal (Sarvodya Institute of Music and Dance). Duet Dance Sub Junior First Prize – Asma and Karan (Youngster Dance Group). Group Dance: First Prize – Gulshan Group (Rythm Dance Academy, R.S Pura).
