Srinagar, Mar 19: Dir-ector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), K Durga Prasad, today said that local youth joining militancy in Kashmir is a concern and security forces will continue their efforts to bring back them to mainstream.
Prasad said that the local youth joining militancy is a concern and efforts are on to bring them to mainstream. “It is a concern and it should not happen. There should be efforts to bring them back and to prevent them from treading a wrong path,” he said.
On the rise in militant attacks on CRPF, he said they are ready to fight the militants. “CRPF is fully capable to deal with any situation,” the DG CRPF said.
Prasad said: “There will be attempts to provoke the youth but we will continue to try to get them into mainstream. We are working shoulder to shoulder with JK Police and we will control this problem, there is no issue,” he said.
The DG CRPF said the security forces would find and kill all those who were crossing over from across the Line of Control (LoC) and were trying to disturb the unity of India. “JK Police and CRPF are working together. We are gathering intelligence and everything is going on well. We had some successful operations this month as well. We will find all of them (foreign militants) and kill all those who want to disturb the unity of India,” he said.
Earlier, Prasad took salute and reviewed the passing out parade of 514 cadets of 96 and 97 batch of the paramilitary force at Recruit Training Centre (RTC) at Humhama in district Budgam.
Since its inception in 1990, the RTC has trained 22,179 recruits by imparting intensive training on concerned subjects besides conditioning them to operate in different internal security situations.
The DG CRPF took the salute and reviewed the Parade as chief guest. On the occasion, the distinguished guests who were present include Special DG CRPF (J&K) SK Bhagat and officers of the CRPF, Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), SSB and police, said the spokesperson. The chief guest gave away the prizes and trophies to outstanding performers.
DIGP/Principal RTC, Mahesh Kumar, addressed the newly passed out constables and said the aim of this institution is to carve a disciplined CRPF soldier out of a common man. “In this institution, young individuals are trained in Battle Craft, Field Craft, Weapon Tactics, drill etc. in consonance with on-ground requirements while maintaining peace in the Nation,” he said.
In his address, the DG CRPF congratulated the newly passed out constables and extended his best wishes to the officers and trainers of RTC for their excellent efforts in organizing such magnificent Parade. He urged the newly passed out constables to dedicate themselves to the cause of the Nation and abide by the Oath just taken.
The General Duty (GD) constables were administered “Oath of Allegiance” by Commandant Jai-dev Kesri as appointing authority.
Prasad, who was chief guest on the occasion took salute at the parade, where emotional scenes were witnessed as new recruits were greeted by friends and members of the family. It was a moment of pride and accomplishment for the trainees and trainers as well.
Deputy Inspector General Mahesh Kumar, Principal RTC, who welcomed Mr Prasad and other guests highlighted the diversified role of RTC and its growth. It was highlighted that RTC has trained 22,179 recruits till now since its inception in 1990.
He explained the ‘Endeavour’ of RTC in shaping the ‘all-round personality’ of trainee for grooming them as excellent soldiers of future by imparting qualitative training.
The 514 constables hailing from different States were imparted intensive training on connected subjects besides conditioning them to operate in different International Security Situations.
Emphasis was also given on subjects like law, human rights and police-public relations, field craft, tactics, militancy, VIP Security and Naxalism, he said.
These recruits are inducted into the Force as Constables only on passing of rigorous tests examinations conducted periodically during Basic Training of about one year.
Soon, the recruits will be dispatched to their Battalions all over the length and breadth for service to the Nation. Mr Prasad addressed the recruits and congratulated them for the grand parade of a very high standard.
The parade was a reflection of professionalism, ability and discipline of the recruits. He also congratulated the officers and trainers of RTC for their excellent efforts to make the parade impressive.
He urged the newly passed Constables to dedicate themselves to the cause of the Nation and abide by the oath they took. Later, talking to mediapersons, Mr Prasad said joining of Kashmiri youths in militancy was a cause of concern and efforts should be made by everybody to bring them back to mainstream.
He said “we have to make efforts and prevent Kashmiri youths from treading a wrong path.” However, he said security forces are already on alert and fully capable to deal with any situation.
Mr Prasad later gave away prizes and trophies of 96th batch to All round best RT/GD Ashok Kumar Tripathi, Best in Indoor RT/GD Pankaj Gautam, Best in Outdoor RT/GD Karunendra Yadav, Best in Indoor RT/GD Pankaj Gautam, Best in Outdoor RT/GD Karunendra Yadav and Best in firing RT/GD Narendra Kumar.
Awardees of Batch 97 batch are all round best RT/GD Sandeep Kumar, Best in Indoor RT/GD Pappu Ram Meena, Best in Outdoor RT/GD Bipreet Singh and Best in firing RT/GD Girraj Prasad.
