UDHAMPUR, Nov 5: The vehicular movement got completely paralyzed on Chenani road due to a huge traffic jam on this busy road for hours together, generating a lot of public resentment in the area.
Chenani bus stand on the National Highway road today witnessed a huge traffic jam for hours together due to the encroachments made by the shopkeepers and parking of vehicles by the customers on this busy road. As this traffic jam is a routine phenomenon at Chenani market, some locals have demanded shifting of bus stand Chennai to some other place for a permanent solution.
The daily traffic jams on this road have generated a lot of public resentment with people also blaming the administration for its total failure in regulating the traffic.
The locals accused the administration of not taking the encroachers to task, especially the shopkeepers, who display their goods on the roadside and the customers who park their vehicles on the road haphazardly while making purchases.
The locals said that the issue was taken up with the authorities several times , but the decisions taken to regulate the traffic are implemented for a few days only and later the situation returns to the same position.
Sometimes, even the ambulances carrying serious patients to be admitted in CHC Chenani had to face a tough time due to traffic jams on this busy road, locals said, fearing that there can be any catastrophe in case the immediate steps are not taken to settle this problem once for all.
