UDHAMPUR, July 8: Agitated over the worst condition of the Jail Road stretch, villagers of Jakhed held a strong protest against the Public Works (R&B) Department, here today. The protesting locals were raising slogans against the PWD (R&B) and the District administration. They said that this kilometer long stretch from Shiv Nagar to Jail, which is part of three-kilometer long road to village Jakhed, was totally damaged but the concerned authorities were not repairing the same despite repeated representations.
The protesting villagers were demanding immediate repair and black topping of the road connecting it with old National Highway Shiv Nagar to village Jakhed.
Local appealed to the PWD (R&B) and District administration to look into the matter in the public interest and get the road repaired.
