REASI, Sept 20: Aggrieved over the worst condition of road, locals of Baradhari, Talwara and other adjoining area today protested against the Public Works (R&B) Department and district administration.
Shouting slogans against the concerned authorities, the protesting people blocked the road for more than two hours thus paralyzing vehicular movement on Katra-Shivkhori route. They were demanding black topping of the road at the earliest.
The protesting people alleged that despite repeated pleas, no immediate action by the district administration and PWD (R&B) was taken to repair the road connecting Sula park to Baradhari.
“The protestor said that the road was closed from last several months and contractor was not starting the work for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities, which have failed to initiate any action against the erring contractor.
Later on, SHO Reasi and Tehsildhar Reasi reached the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring that their demand would be taken up with the concerned authorities for immediate action.
