UDHAMPUR, Mar 31: Up in arms against alleged loot by the private schools on the name of admission fee and other charges, locals held a strong protest demonstration at Jakhani Udhampur.
The protesting people raised slogans and demanded that the Education authorities should clarify on the fee structure as well as other charges. These schools are forcing the students to purchase un-necessary items on exorbitant rates and thus fleecing the parents of their hard earned money, they alleged.
Peer Gulzar Shah, who was leading the protest, lamented that despite complaints in this regard, no action was taken by the Educational authorities against the erring private schools. “These schools are earning corers of rupees in lieu of commission from the suppliers of books and uniforms,” he alleged and appealed Governor N N Vohra to personally look into the matter for necessary action in this regard.
