REASI, Nov 24: Demanding early action in the inquiry against two doctors, posted in the District Hospital Reasi who had allegedly assaulted attendant of a patient, last month, locals held protest demonstration and blocked the National Highway leading to Shiv Khori shrine.
Shouting slogans in support of their demand, the protesting people disrupted vehicular traffic and the road blockade continued for more than one hour thus causing inconvenience to the commuters, particularly the pilgrims.
The protesting people were agitating against unprecedented delay in the investigation against Dr Ashwani Bhagat and Dr Devinder Khajuria, who had allegedly assaulted attendant of a patient namely Kuldeep Kumar on October 20 in the hospital premises. Besides early action in the FIR lodged against these two doctors, they were also demanding a magestrial enquiry into the incident.
Later on, Addl Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Rajinder Sharma along with Dy SP Headquarters Nikhil Gogna personally reached the spot and pacified the protesting people by assuring prompt conclusion of the pending enquiry against the erring doctors within a week’s time.
