UDHAMPUR, Oct 30: Local villagers of Laddan in Udhampur today protested against Education Department and District administration for their failure in providing classrooms and infrastructure at Government High School Laddan, Zone Jib Udhampur District.
The protesting villagers alleged that Government High School Laddan was working in an unsafe building and dilapidated condition. “Walls of the classrooms have developed cracks and there is always risk to the lives of students, particularly during the rainy days as the building is feared to collapse at any time, they said.
“Even as the Education Department had declared the school building unsafe several years ago, no new building was constructed for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities,” said the villagers.
There are about 142 students in the school, which requires additional class rooms and infrastructure.
