UDHAMPUR, Dec 8: Locals of Sambal Dangha, Ward number 19 and Jail Road, protested today against failure of the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department in ensuring regular supply of drinking water. The protesting people raised slogans against Jal Shakti Department and said that due to no regular supply of water, they were forced to depend on natural sources and thus drinking water with mixed grubby and mud. “Due to use of contaminated water, small kids and old people in the area are falling ill and affected with intestinal problems,” they said and lamented that despite repeated pleas to the PHE and district administration, no action was taken for regular supply of drinking water.
