UDHAMPUR, Oct 12: Aggrieved over no regular supply of drinking water, locals of Jakhani and Bharat Nagar protested against the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department.
The protesting villagers, including women, raised slogans against the PHE Department and district Administration for their failure to ensure regular supply of drinking water.
They said that there was no regular supply of drinking water for the last five days in Jakhani and Bharat Nagar. “In absence of drinking water supply, we depend on private water supply or natural sources of water, which remains mixed with grubby and mud, they said, adding that despite repeated requests to the higher authorities of PHE JE, AEE and district administration, no action was taken.
The villagers threatened that if water supply is not restored by tomorrow, they will block the National Highway and responsibility for the same will be of the District Administration and PHE Department.
