UDHAMPUR, Jan 30: Demanding repair and black topping of Gandh Top to Basantgarh road, locals held a strong protest demonstration against the district administration and Public Works Department (PWD).
The protest was organized under the leadership of Anil Pachiala, Ex Secretary Congress (I) J&K and attended by Mushtaq Ahmed, Block President, Mohamed Salim, Sarpanch Basantgarh and others. They said that because of big potholes in 25- km road from Gandh top to Basantgarh, villagers of Pchot, Pnota and about 20,000 population of the adjoining area were suffering.
“Many time this problem was brought into the notice of political leaders and senior officials of the concerned departments but all in vain” they added and rued step motherly treatment with Basantgarh Sub Divisional, which is without SDM for the last two months and no Tehsildar as well as Patwari for the last three months.
Others, who addressed the protest demonstration, included Mohd Jabad, Mohd Sadiq, Sanjay Kumar, Gulam Rasol, Sanjeev Kumar and Vikram Singh.
