UDHAMPUR, Dec 9: Agitated over worst condition of Shiv Gali to Seen Thakran road, locals and students held a strong protest at village Seen Thakran against the Public Works Department (R&B) authorities, here today.
The protesting locals and students raised slogans against the PWD department and the District administration for their failure to repair the road. They blocked the Shiv Gali-Seen Thakran road for about two hours and demanded immediate repair and black topping of the road.
The protestors said that only half a kilometer stretch of this road was blacktopped about four years back but that too ahs damaged completely. They said that due to worst condition of the road they are facing manifold problems for last many years but no action has been taken by the district administration and PWD authorities to repair the road.
People of adjoining areas of village Seen Thakran also joined the protest and threatened of launching an indefinite protest if the road is not repaired or blacktopped soon.
