UDHAMPUR, Sept 24: Locales villagers of Battal Balian today once again protested against the industrial units of Cement and Insecticides, which are polluting environment of the area.
The protesting people raised slogans against District administration and Industries Department for allowing these industrial units to function in Battal Balian area of Udhampur. About 15 units of Cement and Insecticides in this area have posed a danger to lives of about 15000 thousand population in the surroundings, which include Government and Private schools, they added.
The locals demanded immediate shifting of these industrial units, opening a Dispensary in the area, black topping of the industrial road, increase in the labor wages, employment to locals and permitting only in green units in the area by rejecting permission to red category units.
