UDHAMPUR, Aug 27: Local villagers of Chak in Udhampur protested against Education Department and district administration over the issue of shortage of staff, boundary walls and additional classrooms at Government Middle School Dudial Chak Udhampur District.
They alleged that Government Middle School Chak Dudial was being run in unsafe building and dilapidated condition of the school can be judged from the fact that walls of two rooms have developed cracks.
“Students have a feeling of insecurity on rainy days. There is shortage of school staff and only four teachers are deployed there,” they said and demanded construction of boundary walls, additional class rooms and adequate teaching staff.
Some locals of adjoining areas also joined the protest. Chief Education Officer Udhampur, Arvind Koul said that an amount of rupees three lakh was sanctioned for building repair and boundary wall while tendering process was on.
