UDHAMPUR, Apr 11: Aggrieved over no supply of drinking water for the last six month, locals of village Neli Nallha and Reasa Mangol held a protest against Public Health Engineering Department (PHE), here today.
The protest demonstration was held near the Government Middle School Dhanni, which is also without water supply since months. The protesting villagers raised slogans against the PHE Department and threatened to gherao the PHE Station if water supply to these villages and School is not immediately restored.
“Summer has started but there is no water to the Government Middle School Dhanni with the result that our children face problem as they do not get water in school. The problem was highlighted before the PHE department but there has been no action,” the villagers rued and added that without water, the school toilet was also useless
The protesting villagers further alleged that because of no regular supply of drinking water to their area, they were forced to drink muddy water from natural sources. “Due to this situation, small kids and elderly village have been caught with infection and intestinal problem,” they added.
