Locals protest against suspension of DMU

UDHAMPUR, Jan 25: Up in arms against suspension of daily DMU train from Jammu to Udhampur in the afternoon, some locals held a protest demonstration near Roun-Domail, here today.
The protesters raised slogans against the Railway authorities and demanded immediate resumption of the DMU train from Jammu to Udhampur-Katra at 4 pm The protest was led by Aman Kalsotra who appealed the Railway authorities to restart the DMU, which was very popular among the locals traveling between Jammu and Udhampur.
A similar protest was organized by the National Panthers Students Union, led by NPSU president for Jammu University unit, Lovdeep Singh Mankotia.
Holding demonstration against the Railway authorities on suspension of the DMU, NPSU said that the students were most affected due to suspension of the DMU train from Jammu at 4 pm.
Serving an ultimatum of one week to re-start the DMU, Mr Mankotia warned that NPSU would be forced to launch an agitation over the issue and stop all trains if their demand is not conceded.
