DODA, Mar 29: Hundreds of residents today staged a protest and blocked Batote-Kishtwar road near Prem Nagar area against the illegal installation of stone crusher at Kandoth.
The protesters alleged that a person is constructing road on State land without any permission and is going to establish a stone crusher plant, but we oppose it as it will create problem for the people.
“We have been forced to held protest as the administration failed to take action to stop the illegal construction of the stone crusher”, they added.
After getting information, Tehsildar along with a team from Thathri Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Sharma rushed to the spot and assured the protesters of taking up the matter with the higher authorities.
On the assurance, the protesters dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on Batote-Kishtwar road.
When contacted, SHO Thathri, Inspector Sunil Sharma told the Excelsior that Tehsildar has director to stop the work immediately. Action will be taken against the culprits, he added.
