POONCH, Dec 25: As the PDP-BJP dispensation failed to release funds for completing the construction of link road from Chandak to Naradh, earlier taken up under NABARD, the locals of the area collected money and resumed the remaining construction work today.
Former MLA and Youth National Conference provincial president, Ajaz Jan kick started the works in presence of the villagers.
The link road had been started years ago by previous Government under NABARD but since last couple of years, work was lying suspended.”Despite repeated pleas, funds were not released as a result of which the work remained suspended “said locals.
Left with no alternative, locals of the area finally collected money to have the link road completed. On the invitation of local population, Youth NC provincial president Ajaz Jan also reached on the spot and got the work resumed.
Addressing the gathering, Jan said that it’s a matter of shame for the Government that people themselves are doing work of department which has failed to complete pending projects. .
He further said that merely on political grounds, present Government has shelved a number of projects and is not paying any attention towards completion of works.
