Lok Adalat held

UDHAMPUR, Apr 9: A Lok Adalat was held today at the District Court Complex under the chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Judge Udhampur, Ashok Kumar Koul. Two benches were constituted to deal and settle the cases referred to Lok Adalat.
First bench comprising of Principal District & Sessions Judge Udhampur, Ashok Kumar Koul and Additional District & Sessions Judge Udhampur, Mohinder Kumar Sharma and Advocate Isher Das Sharma was constituted to deal with matrimonial, MACT and bank cases.
Second bench comprising of Chief Judicial Magistrate Udhampur, Jatinder Singh Jamwal, JMIC Munsiff Udhampur, Amit Sharma and Advocate Bharat Bhushan Sharma was constituted to deal with the civil and criminal matters referred by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and other Magistrates at Udhampur.
Total of 36 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat by two benches out of which six MACT cases, one Bank case and seven civil and criminal cases were settled. An amount of Rs 16,79,178 was given as compensation or recovery in MACT and bank cases.
