Kargil, May 7: SDM Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk (IAS) today chaired a meeting of all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to discuss arrangements and other matters related to the Lok Sabha election.
During the session, the Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar, Mohd Hassan introduced all BLOs to the SDM and commended the work achieved by them so far.
During the meeting, the SDM distributed the latest Electoral rolls and ID cards to BLOs. The SDM urged all officers and officials to ensure smooth conclusion of the polls in the sub-division and strive to conduct elections with highest standards of integrity and efficiency.
The Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar emphasized the BLOs to update the ASD details and ensure to submit the same to Tehsildar/AERO office by or before May 08, 2024.
SDM Zanskar also directed for the provision of necessary facilities for polling parties along with arrangement of accommodations for polling personnel on polling day at the premises of respective polling stations.
Threadbare discussion were also held on issuance of EDC forms on 9th of May to the election duty personnel of Zanskar sub-division, who are likely to be deployed to Kargil for election duty and It was decided that two staff from AERO office shall be deputed to issue the EDC form’s and same has to be subsequently submitted to the Chief Planning Officer Kargil(Nodal officer EDC) on 10.05.2024.
In the end, the Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar expressed gratitude to the SDM for chairing the meeting and providing invaluable guidance for seamless execution of the election process. The meeting was also attended by ZEO & BDO and the representatives of PHE & PDD departments.
