Lone advocates connecting all colleges through IT

JAMMU, Apr 3: Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone, has underlined the need for connecting colleges of Jammu and Kashmir through Information and Technology so that the students of the State are benefited from the market oriented education.
Lone was speaking at the 61st Central Advisory Board of Education meeting held in New Delhi yesterday which was attended by various dignitaries from different States of the country.
The Minister apprised the Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD), Pallam Raju, about the problem of unconnected Government colleges due to certain technical problems. He demanded that all the 95 Government colleges should be connected through IT adding that this connectivity under National Knowledge Mission will help conducting classes through e-learning method.
Mr. Lone also urged upon the HRD Minister to provide funds for repairing of education sets which have become non-functional due to technical problems.
The HRD Minister assured Lone that all issues of great significance for students of the State raised by him would be looked into for necessary action.
