Lone distributes cheques worth Rs 5 lakh under NBA

BANDIPORA, Jan 14: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone today urged upon district administration Bandipora to work with more zeal and dedication for the betterment and welfare of people.
Mr. Lone was chairing a district level review meeting to assess the achievements and performance of the district Bandipora here today.
Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Chief Planning Officer, Peer Mohammad Syed, and officers of District administration were present on the occasion.
The Speaker was informed that out of Rs. 33.11 crore Rs 20.04 crore have been expended under various schemes in the district.
Appreciating the performance of various departments, the Speaker urged upon them to keep the tempo of rendering services with honesty and transparency for the welfare of people.
Mr. Lone stressed upon the district administration Bandipora to utilize the allocated funds judiciously while implementing the State and Centrally sponsored schemes so that needy and poor people can be provided succour for improving their socio-economic conditions.
Earlier, Mr. Lone inaugurated the Tehsil Office Agrarian Reforms Hajin, Sonawari. On the occasion Mr. Lone addressed a large gathering of people and reiterated the fulfilment of long pending demands of the people of the area.
He said various initiatives have been taken for improvement of basic amenities including providing facilities of adequate drinking water, better road connectivity and electricity, besides employment through MGNERGA, and other such schemes in the district
On the occasion Mr. Lone also distributed cheques worth Rs. 5.1 lakh among 100 beneficiaries of Hajin area for total sanitation campaign under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA).
Responding to demands put forth by the locals, Mr. lone assured them that the genuine demands would be looked into on priority.
