HANDWARA, Feb 8: Minister for Social Welfare, Trainings, and Science & Technology, Sajad Gani Lone, today conducted an Awami Durbar here and reviewed snow clearance measures, besides availability of essential services and restoration works post heavy snowfall in Handwara Constituency.
During the Durbar, Lone held interactive sessions with officers of various concerned departments and met various public deputations who apprised him about issues related to power supply, safe drinking water supply, availability of essential commodities and healthcare facilities in their respective areas.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to public deputations and assured them that their genuine demands would be redressed at the earliest. He directed the officers to provide better services to the people especially during winter months.
To address water supply issues, the Minister said that a plan is being formulated which will cater to the needs of people regarding availability of safe drinking water supply. He also said that 200 electric transformers have been provided in the constituency which will be installed at required places where transformers have got damaged.
He directed the officers to ensure basic facilities to the people and fine-tune roadmap for development of the constituency and for addressing grievances of peoples in an effective manner.
Referring to the developmental works, Lone said that Karnah power project, Bungus road, Bridges, Multistory hospital, Bio-technology park, besides beautification of Handwara town has been formulated on modern lines.
