JAMMU, Apr 5: Separatist turned politician Sajjad Lone today threatened to quit and resign over portfolio.
Lone was allocated the Ministry of Social Welfare and ARI Trainings.
“Lone has expressed resentment over the departments he has been allocated,” party sources here said.
Lone who represented People’s Conference, is an ally of the BJP and supported the saffron brigade during Government formation on the assurance of Ministerial berth.
Sources said Lone has expressed his resentment to both the PDP and the BJP demanding better portfolio.
“He (Sajjad Lone) said that people from his constituency are not happy with the portfolio he has been assigned,” sources said and added that Lone expressed that he is answerable to the masses so he should not be neglected of important portfolios.
Sources said Lone has threatened to quit the Ministry but deliberations are in progress.
Sources said Sajjad Lone has sent his resignation to BJP high command. It may be mentioned that last time also, Lone has protested over allocation of Animal & Sheep Husbandry Department but was persuaded by the party leadership.
Lone, a People’s Conference leader, is a pre-poll ally of the BJP and was yesterday retained as Cabinet Minister from BJP quota.
