JAMMU, July 28: Pacca Danga police foiled a loot attempt of passengers with the arrest of three persons along with sharp edged weapon and two motorcycles.
As per police sources, four persons on two motorcycles intercepted a tourist car bearing registration number JK01Q-2720 near Manda to loot the passengers, who were on their way to Srinagar from Jammu.
The accused attacked the driver of the passenger car identified as Arshad Ahmed Mir of district Budgam, Srinagar with sharp edged weapon and also assaulted a passenger.
However, the driver of the car managed to inform the police and after a hot chase, Pacca Danga police arrested three accused, while one of their associate was at large.
The accused have been identified as Palvinder Singh alias Ravi Gill, son of Amarjeet Singh, a resident of district Kapurthala, Sunny Mattoo alias Tuti, son of Baldev Raj of Dogra Hall and Pummy Kumar, son of Ramesh Kumar of Canal Road. Two motorcycles bearing registration numbers JK02AP-2264 and JK02BD-8826 along with sharp edged weapon used in committing the crime were also seized.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Pacca Danga police station and investigation started.
Police team headed by SHO Pacca Danga Police Station Daljit Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Kulbir Handa and SP City Yougal Manhas.
