Lost bag containing gold ornaments handed over to owner

JAMMU, Mar 21: Police handed over a lost bag containing gold ornaments to its owner.
As per police sources, a boy of Miran Sahib area had found a bag containing gold ornaments worth Rs 1.4 lakhs in the month of November 2017 and handed over the same to a local shopkeeper of Miran Sahib market.
Some locals approached SP Headquarters Jammu regarding this issue and yesterday a public notice for general public was uploaded on social networking sites including facebook and WatsApp grounds regarding the lost purse containing gold ornaments including bangles, pendant, chain, ring, ear tops, ear clips and ear rings.
Today, a person namely Kamaljeet Singh, son of Gurmukh Singh of Koulan, Miran Sahib appeared in Police Station Miran Sahib and claimed to be a legitimate owner of these gold items by producing photographs and other similar golden bangles.
After proper verification of photographs and inquiry, it was found that the gold ornaments belonged to him and accordingly RC Kotwal, SP Headquarters Jammu accompanied with SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Ajit Singh in the presence of prominent citizens of Miran Sahib area handed over the gold ornaments to the owner Kamaljeet Singh.
