LPEF for hike in Medical Allowance, regularisation of daily wagers

JAMMU, Sept 18: A meeting of Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPEF) was held under the chairmanship of Anchal Dev Singh its convener which was attended by Gulam Rasool Mir, Javed Shah , R K Maini, Anil Verma, Anil Verma, Ishar Dass Sangra, J S Awal, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Abdul Hafiz Fani, Ludar Mani, Babu Ram Sharma, Abdul Rashid Bhat and others.
During the meeting the resolution was passed demanding enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000/- The meeting said across country as well as in UT of Ladakh the Medical Allowance is paid at the rate of Rs 1000 per month to employees while in J&K the employees are facing discrimination.
The meeting said after retirement the monthly medical expenses of an employee or his family ranges from Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 and they are unable to bear the same.
The meeting said giving the current inflation and skyrocketing prices of essential commodities , the pensioners community is suffering immensely as the cost of living has considerably increased putting a heavy burden on pensioners.
The meeting demanded that the genuine problem of employees be solved and Medical Allowance be enhanced to Rs 3000 per month so that pensioners are saved from mental agony.
The meeting also demanded formulation of a comprehensive policy for the regularisation of daily wagers who are working in various departments for decades together.
