LPEF seeks amendment in Treasuries Code

JAMMU, Aug 17: Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPEF) has sought amendment in J&K Treasuries Code, authorizing managers of J&K Bank branches from where the pensioners of J&K State are drawing pension to record annual personal verification.

A deputation of the Federation led by its president Abdul Majid Khan met the Jt Director Accounts and Treasuries here and sought amendment in the J&K Treasuries Code. He said that provisions of personal pension verification by the Treasury Officers was relevant when the pensioners were getting pension from the treasuries but after the transfer of payment of pension to J&K Bank, necessity has arisen to amend the Treasuries Code. He pointed out that even till now many pensioners have not been able to complete the process of personal verification.
