LPG Booking

Sir,
Department of Legal Metrology, Jammu has issued a new procedure entited “IVRS” for Booking/refilling LPG on line. The same was published in this paper Dt 31-12-2014.
The new procedure is an innovative step  and the department deserves all appreciations. In my view this new procedure is not practical for many LPG consumers due to their ignorance.
A good number of our consumers especially our  women folk are ignorant due to many reasons including their illiteracy. They are even unable to operate their mobile phones. I have  even observed that many literate persons are reluctant in adapting this new procedure.  Further in the new procedure their seems to be a lacuna i.e the reminder procedure is all together missing. Once you have booked your Gas then you have to wait till its delivery as there is no procedure to remind the booking agency for its early delivery.
No doubt the procedure looks very simple and will definitely save one’s precious time and energy.
So it is suggested that both options-booking on line and standing in queue  existing procedure) be kept open for the consumers. As soon as the situation improves, all consumers can switch  on to avail new IVRS procedure. Hope the concerned authorities shall look into the matter and rationalize the procedure for the benefits of the LPG consumers.
Yours etc…
