NEW DELHI, Dec 4:  LPG customers in J&K, Manipur, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab and Pondicherry can now avail of new subsidised LPG connections. The facility is already available in the States of Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland and Andaman & Nicobar Islands since the middle of November 2012.
Prospective customers in these 11 States who have registered for new LPG connections till October 15 this year with the LPG cooking gas distributors of the Oil Marketing Companies  (OMCs) – IOC, BPC and HPC –  and who do not already possess an LPG connection from any of these OMCs,  can now avail of a new subsidised LPG connection.
This was stated in a official handout issued here today.
Earlier, OMCs had stopped release of new LPG connections pending completion of de-duplication process by them, although registrations for new LPG connections continued.
The list of prospective customers who are eligible for new LPG connections at subsidised rates in these States is now available with the LPG distributors concerned.  The list has been compiled and readied after completion of the de-duplication process. These LPG distributors will be sending out separate intimation letters to those prospective customers who are eligible for new LPG connection at subsidised rates.
On receipt of the intimation letter, prospective customers can approach their gas distributor to  complete the formalities.
For those customers who had applied for a new LPG connection despite already in possession of an LPG connection in the same household, thereby having given a false declaration, the OMCs will soon be initiating steps to block their existing connections and also initiate legal proceedings as per law.
Meanwhile, for the convenience of LPG domestic cooking gas customers, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), IOC, BPC and HPC, have once again extended the deadline for submission of the Know Your Customer (KYC) forms from  November 30 this year  to  December, 31, 2012.  Only multiple connection-holders should submit the KYC details before the new deadline, the handout added.
