LPG shortage

Sir,
I fully endorse the views expressed by JM Behl through his article entitled “LPG supply in state” published in DE of Dec. 26,2012. Gas consumers with double connection either from same or different oil company on the same address should be allowed without creating unnecessary and meaningless mess.
However, it should be with the condition that only one connection is subjected to subsidized number of gas cylinders whereas the other connection remains that for unsubsidized category.
The gas company could issue consumer’s book with the stamp of ‘On subsidized rate” or “Un non-subsidized rate”. Doing this would remove the mess that the oil companies have created by not allowing multiple gas connections on the same address.
The J&K Minister for Consumer Affairs and the J&K Minister for consumer affairs and the J&K Govt should seriously consider this issue in the interests of the general public rather than allow the gas companies to create a mess over multiple connections and to put the consumers into unnecessary crisis without of course, compromising with the objective of the Central Government in issuing limited number of gas cylinders on subsidized rate.
Yours etc….
