LPGEF highlights demands of employees, pensioners

JAMMU, Jan 8: In a meeting the State Committee members of All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPGEF) under the presidentship of Anchal Dev Singh highlighted some burning demands of UT Government employees and pensioners.
The meeting demanded redressal of the demands of employees and pensioners which included arresting the sky rocketing rise of prices that has made impossible for the working class to pull on.
It demanded that the rates of all eatables and other daily use items may be displayed by the Government Depot as well as all commercial establishments. The D.A w.e.f July 1 last year be granted and released in favour of employees and pensioners, release of pending D.A of 18 months and the D.A arrears which stand with held during the period of corona virus be paid in one go. It also demanded restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) as most of the states/UTs have adopted the OPS and J&K Government should also restore the same, the Medical Allowances be increased to Rs 1000 per month, against Rs. 300/- w.e.f January, 2020, the D.P.C of all the employees be conducted twice in a year to save them from stagnation besides, D.P.C of left out ZEOs and Headmasters was conducted but some deserving officers have been left out again without any cogent reasons. Their cases be cleared by DPC strictly as per seniority and merit. The meeting demanded framing of services rules of PDC employees, of J&K UT, transfer policy of ReT teachers, regularisation of daily wagers who have completed seven years service continuously, honorarium of Anganwari workers, Mid-day meal cooks of school, Asha workers and village guards may be enhanced to the tune of Rs. 10,000/- per month and appointments under SRO 43 be expedited.
