JALANDHAR, June 14: Every year, thousands of students join Lovely Professional University (LPU) from across India and the world. To support top meritorious students, LPU runs one of the largest scholarship policies in the country, where top students can get scholarship up to Rs 1.5 lakh per year.
This year, LPU has moved one step further and decided to provide 100% tuition and residential fee- waiver to top 20 students of each of the recognized Central as well as State Boards, including CBSE, JKSBOSE (Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education), and ICSE boards.
Last year, more than 1600 students with 90% and more marks joined LPU. Scholarships are provided not only for illustrious achievements in academics but in sports, social service, cultural, co-curricular activities, bravery-acts, research and development works also. Meritorious students in diverse fields, from across Jammu and Kashmir, can become a part of this league of extraordinary achievers this year-2017 as well.
LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal said: “Our University strongly strives to provide higher education to all meritorious students. Last year, LPU scholarship was up to Rs 1 lakh per year per student, which has now been increased to 1.5 lakh per student. Then, more than 1600 students with 90% and more marks from all across India were benefitted through this scholarship scheme. On the same lines, in order to help the students of Jammu & Kashmir, we are providing 100% scholarship to the J&K topper students also. In fact, we do not want that a capable student be debarred from receiving quality education. I am happy to see that we have been able to make this positive for a larger number of students from across the state and the country.”
During the current admission session, some of the students from Jammu and Kashmir, Shivam, Aakash Sharma, Yashavin Singh all three from Jammu, Aadir Bashir Lone from Srinagar, Dipty Samwal from Udhampur and Amandeep Kaur from Lakhanpur, who have joined LPU Programmes in B Tech Bio-Tech, BHMCT, B Tech ME, B Sc Bio-Tech, B Sc MLT and M Tech Civil Engineering are with good marks in their last qualifying exams.
