LPU to host 109th Indian Science Congress in January 2024

JAMMU, Dec 12: Lovely Professional University (LPU), is all set to host the 109th Indian Science Congress (ISC) from 3rd January, 2024.
For the second time LPU is hosting this prestigious event, with the previous occasion being in 2019. It also makes LPU amongst the very few universities who have the privilege to host ISC more than once and amongst the only universities to host it again in less than five year gap.
The theme for the upcoming 109th ISC – “The Global Perspective on Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future” emphasizes the crucial role of global cooperation and innovation in addressing the challenges of the modern world.
This prestigious event will bring together renowned Nobel laureates, scientists, researchers, academicians, experts, innovators, and policymakers from around the world to engage in discussions and develop strategies for sustainable growth across various fields.
The conference will commence with the inauguration of the Indian Science Congress and a plenary lecture program on January 3rd 2024. The second day will witness the inauguration of the Children’s Science Congress, Women’s Science Congress, Farmer’s Science Congress, and the Science Communicators’ Meet. The third day will witness the inauguration of the Science and Society Congress and the Tribal Science Congress. In addition to these sessions, the congress will host conferences on various topics to delve into specific areas of scientific research and innovation.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Founder Chancellor of LPU and Rajya Sabha Member, expressed his excitement about hosting the prestigious 109th Indian Science Congress for the second time.

The previous one is registered as a landmark event in Indian history, where the ‘Jai Anusandhan’ slogan was added to already existing revered slogans ‘Jai Kisan, Jai Jawan, and Jai Vigyan. It indeed marked a significant milestone in our nation’s journey towards scientific progress.”
