LS business disturbed as Oppn demands PM’s statement

NEW DELHI :  The Opposition attack on the government in the Lok Sabha continued today over Jammu and Kashmir Chief  Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s remarks on state polls,   demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement and a Censure  Motion on the issue.
The House was adjourned twice– first till 1130 hrs and then till 1145 hrs — as the Opposition parties created an uproar pressing for their demands.
As soon as the proceedings began, Saugata Roy of Trinamool Congress said the Prime Minister should clear the air about the issue which is a sensitive one concerning Jammu and Kashmir and demanded that a Censure Motion be bought to condemn the comment of Mr Sayeed.
On this, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the party and government had already disassociated itself from the comment and therefore there was no justification on raising the issue again.    But the protest continued unrelented and the Opposition members trooped into the Well and raised slogans.    Immediately after taking the oath of office, Mr Sayeed had credited Pakistan, Hurriyat and terrorists for the smooth conduction of state Assembly elections.
