L&T construction bags Rs 5492 cr orders in March

NEW DELHI, Apr 6: The construction arm of  Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said it has won orders worth Rs 5492 crore across various business segments in March 2015.       The buildings and factories business has secured orders of Rs 2768 crore including add-ons, the company said in a statement.       A major order was received for the construction of a mixed use development complex in Mumbai which will consist of eight residential towers and a commercial building spread over an estimated total built-up area of 35 Lakh sq ft, it said.       The scope involves civil, structural, architectural, finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing works, it said.
The power transmission and distribution business has bagged orders of Rs 984 crore in both the international and domestic markets, including add-ons, it said.       New orders and variations have been won from various reputed customers in the Middle East which includes engineering, procurement and construction of 220kV and 132kV substations and power upgradation works at certain facilities, it said.       The water and renewable energy business has received an order of Rs 188 crore from the rural water supply and sanitation department for the construction of intake wells, water treatment plants and a raw water pumping main in the Medak district of Telangana along with associated electrical, mechanical and instrumentation works, it said.       Additional orders of Rs 1552 crore have been received from various ongoing jobs of other businesses of L&T construction.
