MUMBAI,Sept 16:Engineering Major, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that its construction arm of has secured orders from prestigious clients across various Indian states for its varied businesses.
The Water and Effluent Treatment business has secured an Engineering, Procurement & Construction order from the West Bengal Public Health Engineering Department, funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) for “Construction of an Intermediate Pumping Station, Secondary Transmission Mains, Overhead Tanks, Water Distribution Network Et Metering works including 2 years of Operation et Maintenance in the Nandigram-I and Nandigram-II blocks of East Medinipur, West Bengal”.
The scope of work includes Design & Construction of two ground level storage reservoir cum Intermediate Booster Pumping Station of total capacity 6,800 KL, 29 RCC Over Head Reservoirs of aggregate capacity 22,950 KL, Supply Et Laying of Transmission Et Distribution pipelines of total 1,835 Km length, associated Electromechanical & Instrumentation works and 90,000 House Service Connections with Operation & Maintenance for two years. The project is being implemented to cater continuous (24×7) water supply to the Nandigram I & II blocks and will involve automation including measurement of input a output water quantity through suitable SCADA a other instrumentation works, aimed at limiting the water losses in the system to desired levels.
Additionally, the construction arm has received various add-on orders for some of its existing projects across the Heavy Civil infrastructure and Metallurgy and Material Handling (MMH) businesses.
